After a full day of play, every boarding Camper settles into their own private Cabin for the night. The Cabin isn’t an add-on. It’s included in the standard boarding rate, along with a cozy cot and a fleece blanket to make the space feel familiar. Before lights out, each Camper receives a nightly Campfire Treat™ to round out the day. You’re welcome to bring your dog’s own food and an optional comfort item, like a familiar blanket or toy, if it helps them settle in.

How We Keep Every Camper Safe
Safety at Camp isn’t a single policy. It’s built into how we operate every day. Before any new dog joins the group, they complete our Camper Interview, a screening process that confirms they’re current on vaccinations and comfortable in a group setting. Dogs that aren’t spayed or neutered aren’t permitted to board, which helps keep the social dynamic stable for every Camper in the facility.
Once a dog is cleared to join, play groups are organized by size, temperament, and energy level so every dog is matched with compatible companions. Our Certified Camp Counselors® monitor those groups continuously throughout the day. Trained in canine first aid and behavior management, they can read the room and step in before small tensions become problems.
Pre-screening every dog before group play is a widely recognized best practice in professional dog care. For Fort Collins pet parents, it means your dog is sharing space with others who have cleared the same bar.

Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
