Tailored Grooming Expertise for Every Pup
We pride ourselves on offering professional dog grooming services that cater to every dog, regardless of their size, age, or coat type. Our groomers and Certified Camp Counselors are skilled in handling everything from small, energetic Terriers to large, majestic Newfoundlands.
We start by asking about your dog’s lifestyle, coat condition, and any sensitivities so we can suggest the right services and timing for their visit. Puppies who are just getting used to grooming may benefit from shorter, confidence-building appointments, while older dogs often need extra time, soft handling, and more frequent breaks to stay comfortable. For double-coated and high-shedding breeds, we can recommend seasonal grooming plans that help keep them cool in warmer months and reduce excess fur in your home.
Our Customized Care Approach
Each of our dog grooming services is custom-tailored to the specific needs of your individual dog. This personalized attention ensures they receive exactly what their coat and skin require, so they leave our facility feeling completely refreshed and revitalized.
During each visit, we pay attention to your dog’s body language and stress signals and adjust our pace to match their comfort level. Some pups do best with extra reassurance and calm, quiet handling, while others relax when they can move through each step of the bath and groom efficiently. We document your preferences and your dog’s responses so every appointment builds on the last, creating a familiar routine that helps your pup look forward to their time with us.
What To Expect At Your Dog's Grooming Visit
When you arrive for your grooming appointment, we will check your pup in, review the services you have selected, and confirm any special requests. This is a great time to mention recent vet visits, skin concerns, or behavior changes so we can tailor the session appropriately. Once your dog is settled in, our team guides them through each step of the visit in a calm, reassuring way.
Your dog will move from a gentle brushing to their bath, followed by careful drying, nail trimming, and any requested trimming around the face, paws, or sanitary areas. Between steps, we offer short breaks and praise to help your pup stay relaxed and comfortable. When the groom is complete, we will walk you through what was done, share any observations we noticed, and let you know when it may be a good time to schedule the next visit.
Dog Grooming FAQs
Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Lakewood South is here to help!
-
An exit bath is a bath scheduled at the end of your dog’s boarding or daycare stay so they go home clean and fresh after all their Camp adventures. We time it close to pick-up so your pup is dry, brushed, and ready for snuggles when you arrive. Just ask to add an exit bath when you book your Camper’s stay.

Most dogs benefit from a nail trim every 3–6 weeks, but it depends on how fast their nails grow and how much they naturally wear them down. If you can hear your pup’s nails clicking on the floor, it’s usually time for a trim. Our groomers can recommend a schedule that keeps your Camper’s paws healthy and comfortable.

Both nail grinding and clipping can be safe and effective when done properly. Clipping quickly shortens the nail, while grinding can smooth and round the edges, which some pups and pet parents prefer. Our team can talk through the options and help you choose what’s best for your dog’s comfort and nail health.

A typical dog bath service includes a gentle shampoo, a thorough rinse, towel and/or blow dry, and a brush-out suited to your pup’s coat. Some Camps may also offer add-ons like nail trims, ear cleaning, or de-shedding treatments. We’ll always let you know exactly what’s included so your pup gets the most out of their bath time.

Many pet parents love adding a bath at the end of a boarding stay or a big day of play so their pup comes home clean, soft, and cuddle-ready. After all that fun in the play yards, a fresh bath can be a nice finishing touch. Let us know at booking if you’d like to schedule a bath so we can plan your Camper’s “spa time” before pick-up.
