Dog Grooming in Carney, MD

Bathing & Nail Trimming at a Facility Carney Families Already Trust

At Camp Bow Wow, dog grooming in Carney is built into the same visit your pup already loves. We offer bathing and nail trimming for dogs coming in for daycare or boarding, so you drop off one dog and pick up a squeaky-clean pup without making a single extra stop. Our dog grooming areas are designed with your dog’s comfort in mind, and before we get started, we talk through your dog’s coat, skin sensitivities, and comfort level to tailor the service to what works best for your individual dog.

Carney and Baltimore County pet parents juggle full schedules. At-home baths are messy, time-consuming, and often a wrestling match, especially at the end of a long day. We make it easy to cross grooming off your list while your dog is already having fun at Camp.

Ready to book a grooming session or add one to an upcoming stay? Call us at (877) 700-2275 or reserve online and let us take care of the bath.

Grooming That Fits Into Your Dog’s Camp Day

Adding grooming to a daycare or boarding reservation at Camp Bow Wow takes one trip off your calendar entirely. Your dog spends the day playing and resting at Camp, and the grooming happens during that same visit. No separate salon appointment. No second drop-off.

Dogs who are already comfortable at Camp tend to be more relaxed in the dog grooming areas than they would be at an unfamiliar location. That familiarity matters, especially for dogs who are new to professional grooming or a little hesitant about bath time. We’re a one-stop destination for play, rest, and grooming because that’s simply easier for everyone.

Why Carney Pet Parents Trust Camp Bow Wow

Our certified Camp Counselors monitor pups throughout the day, keeping the environment safe, active, and fun. Every dog who visits for grooming must be current on Rabies, Distemper, Bivalent Flu, and Bordetella vaccines, which helps us maintain a healthy space for all dogs at Camp. Dogs visiting only for grooming don’t need to complete the Camper Interview process, so getting started is straightforward.

We price our services transparently with no hidden fees, and our live web cameras let you check in on your dog any time during their visit. Camp Bow Wow is part of a network of over 220 Camp Bow Wow locations across North America, backed by the same standards and care that families have counted on for years.

What to Expect on Your Dog’s First Grooming Visit

Before we begin, we’ll talk through your dog’s coat, skin sensitivities, and comfort level. That information helps us approach the session in a way that feels manageable for your dog. Our dog grooming areas are designed with pup comfort in mind, and if your dog is new to professional grooming, we introduce the environment at their pace.

Sharing details about your dog’s behavioral tendencies ahead of the appointment helps us prepare. A short walk or bathroom break before drop-off can also help your dog settle in more easily.

How Often Should You Groom Your Dog?

Grooming frequency depends on your dog’s breed, coat type, and lifestyle. There’s no single schedule that works for every dog. As a general guideline, most dogs benefit from professional grooming every four to eight weeks to maintain coat health and appearance. Dogs with longer coats or thicker undercoats may need more frequent sessions, while short-haired breeds often require less. Consistent visits also help dogs grow more comfortable with the process over time, making each session a little easier than the last.

A Clean, Safe Environment for Every Grooming Session

We use dog-safe products in our dog grooming areas and maintain hygiene standards that keep sessions safe and comfortable. Our vaccine requirements help protect every dog at Camp, not just the one being groomed. Stable, non-slip surfaces and pet-formulated shampoos and conditioners are part of how we keep the experience low-stress for your pup.

Want to add grooming to your dog’s next Camp stay? Call (877) 700-2275 or book online to schedule with Camp Bow Wow.

Dog Grooming FAQs

Have questions? Camp Bow Wow is here to help!

  • An exit bath is a bath scheduled at the end of your dog’s boarding or daycare stay so they go home clean and fresh after all their Camp adventures. We time it close to pick-up so your pup is dry, brushed, and ready for snuggles when you arrive. Just ask to add an exit bath when you book your Camper’s stay.
  • Most dogs benefit from a nail trim every 3–6 weeks, but it depends on how fast their nails grow and how much they naturally wear them down. If you can hear your pup’s nails clicking on the floor, it’s usually time for a trim. Our groomers can recommend a schedule that keeps your Camper’s paws healthy and comfortable.
  • Both nail grinding and clipping can be safe and effective when done properly. Clipping quickly shortens the nail, while grinding can smooth and round the edges, which some pups and pet parents prefer. Our team can talk through the options and help you choose what’s best for your dog’s comfort and nail health.
  • A typical dog bath service includes a gentle shampoo, a thorough rinse, towel and/or blow dry, and a brush-out suited to your pup’s coat. Some Camps may also offer add-ons like nail trims, ear cleaning, or de-shedding treatments. We’ll always let you know exactly what’s included so your pup gets the most out of their bath time.
  • Many pet parents love adding a bath at the end of a boarding stay or a big day of play so their pup comes home clean, soft, and cuddle-ready. After all that fun in the play yards, a fresh bath can be a nice finishing touch. Let us know at booking if you’d like to schedule a bath so we can plan your Camper’s “spa time” before pick-up.
