What Our Dog Boarding Includes
When your dog stays with us, we want you to be able to picture their day and night clearly. Our boarding guests follow a steady rhythm of play, rest, and care that keeps them active without feeling overstimulated. This structure helps many dogs settle in quickly, even if it is their first time away from home.
During the day, dogs have regular chances to stretch their legs, use the restroom, and enjoy supervised group or individual time, depending on what they are comfortable with. We build in breaks so they can relax in their own space between activities. This balance helps energetic dogs burn off steam and gives quieter dogs time to recharge.
Feeding is handled according to your instructions. You bring your dog’s food so their diet stays consistent, and we follow the schedule you outline, such as once or twice daily meals. If your dog needs medication, our staff records the dose and timing when you drop off and follows that plan carefully during their stay.
At night, boarding guests settle into secure sleeping areas that are designed for comfort and safety. Each dog has their own space with clean bedding, fresh water, and climate control that keeps them comfortable in all seasons. Our team checks on dogs on a regular basis and listens for any signs of distress so we can respond promptly if someone needs a little extra reassurance.
The environment is intentionally calm during evening hours, with lights dimmed and noise kept low so dogs can rest. Many pet parents tell us their dogs come home tired in a good way after a full day of activity and a solid night of sleep. Our goal is for your dog to feel cared for, not just housed, during overnight dog boarding with us.
Why Local Families Trust Our Boarding
Pet parents near Grove City look for more than a place to drop their dog off. They want a dog boarding service that treats their dog with the same care and patience they do at home. Our team works with dogs of many sizes, ages, and personalities, and we adjust our approach so each guest has a positive experience.
We pay close attention to temperament. High-energy dogs may enjoy more active play and games, while shy or older dogs may benefit from gentler interaction and extra quiet time. Our staff observes body language and behavior, then guides activities in a way that helps keep play safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Cleanliness and health are priorities throughout the facility. Sleeping areas and common spaces are cleaned regularly, and we maintain clear expectations around vaccinations, which helps protect all boarding guests. Fresh water is always available, and food is stored and served in a way that keeps it clean and clearly labeled.
Families in this community also value convenience. Our location serves dog parents who live nearby and those who commute into Columbus or travel out of John Glenn Columbus International Airport. Many clients plan drop off on the way to work or the airport, then pick up their dog on the way home, which makes Camp Bow Wow Hilliard a practical part of their travel routine.
Communication matters as well. We encourage you to share details about your dog’s habits and preferences at check-in, and we let you know how the stay went when you pick them up. If there is something you are worried about, our team is available to talk through it so you feel comfortable before and during your dog’s time with us.
What Your Dog’s Stay Looks Like At Camp Near Grove City
From the moment you arrive, we want boarding to feel straightforward for you and calm for your dog. At check-in, our team confirms your contact information, feeding instructions, and any medication or special needs. We also ask about your dog’s personality, favorite activities, and any concerns you have, such as nervousness or reactivity.
Once your dog is settled in, we give them time to explore their space and get comfortable before joining activities. New guests are introduced thoughtfully, and we pay attention to how they respond. A confident, social dog may be ready for small play groups quickly, while a more reserved dog may start with shorter periods of interaction and more one-on-one attention from staff.
Throughout the day, we manage play and rest intentionally. Dogs are grouped by a mix of size, energy level, and temperament so that play stays friendly and safe. Between activity sessions, they return to their own areas for water, rest, and meals. This pattern helps prevent overexcitement and keeps dogs from becoming overwhelmed.
In the evening, we ease into a quieter routine. After final outings and meals, dogs return to their sleeping areas with fresh bedding and water. The environment shifts from active to restful so guests can wind down. Our staff remains attentive to sounds and movement, and we work to keep the space calm so everyone can sleep.
When you return for pick up, we will let you know how your dog did, including how they ate, rested, and interacted. If we notice anything about their behavior or preferences, we share that with you so you can decide how to plan future stays. Many dogs grow more relaxed with each visit as they become familiar with our routine and staff.

Camp Bow Wow requires all boarding dogs to be up to date on their DHPP vaccine to keep them healthy and able to play safely with other dogs. It’s recommended that the Leptospirosis vaccine also be included annually, as it’s more common, can be deadly to dogs, and can spread to humans.
The DHPP vaccine protects against four serious and highly contagious diseases: Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. These illnesses can affect a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, and can spread quickly between dogs, making vaccination important.
Puppies start the DHPP series at 6–8 weeks old, with two boosters given at 3-week intervals, followed by a third booster a year later. Adult dogs receive booster shots as recommended by their veterinarian, with the Distemper and Parvovirus portion typically given every 1–3 years.
In addition to the DHPP vaccine, the Rabies and Bordetella vaccines are also required for all boarding dogs at all our locations. For more information on our vaccine requirements for dog boarding, contact your local Camp Bow Wow.
