Bathing & Nail Trimming at Camp Bow Wow Golden
Dogs that spend time on the trails near Mount Vernon Canyon come home with more than tired paws. Dust, mud, and debris settle into coats, collect between toes, and tuck behind ears. At Camp Bow Wow Golden, dog grooming in Mount Vernon, CO means your pup gets a thorough bath and nail trim in a calm, clean environment they already know and trust.
Grooming is available as a standalone appointment or added to a dog daycare or dog boarding stay. If you’re commuting along the I-70 corridor, one stop covers everything: play, a bath, and a nail trim. You pick up a tired, clean pup.
Ready to book or add grooming to an existing stay? Call Camp Bow Wow Golden at (720) 818-9350 and we’ll get your pup scheduled.
What a Grooming Appointment Includes
Before the bath starts, we review your dog’s size, coat type, and any sensitivities so the appointment is planned around your specific pup. Every visit includes a coat check for tangles, debris, and overall coat condition, with close attention to common trouble spots like ears, paws, and under the collar.
Our grooming areas are equipped with non-slip surfaces and warm water and are kept clean and organized throughout the day. We bathe each dog with products suited to their needs, rinse thoroughly, and handle every step with calm, steady reassurance. Nail trimming follows the same approach: gentle and unhurried. Dogs that visit regularly tend to grow more comfortable with the process over time.
Health Requirements for Grooming Visits
Dogs coming in for grooming don’t need to complete the standard Camper Interview. All dogs visiting Camp, regardless of service, must have current vaccination records on file for Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, and Bivalent Flu. These requirements protect every pup at Camp.
If you’re unsure whether your dog’s records are current, call us at (720) 818-9350 before your appointment and we can walk you through what’s needed.

Grooming as Part of the Full Camp Experience
A standalone grooming salon can give your dog a good bath. What it can’t offer is a dog who arrived already comfortable with the people and the space. When your pup gets groomed at Camp Bow Wow Golden, they’re in a familiar environment with the same Camp Counselors they see during daycare and boarding. That familiarity can make a real difference for dogs who find grooming stressful.
Adding grooming to a daycare stay means your dog plays in supervised playgroups, gets bathed, and goes home clean and ready to rest. Adding it to a boarding stay means a fresh coat and trimmed nails before the ride home. Either way, you’re not scheduling a separate errand.
A few things that come with every visit to Camp:
- Live webcam access so you can check in on your dog during their stay
- Camp Counselor supervision throughout the day
- Transparent, all-inclusive pricing with no hidden fees
- Training services also available if you want to combine a session with your dog’s visit
Dog Grooming FAQs
Have questions? Camp Bow Wow Golden is here to help!
-
An exit bath is a bath scheduled at the end of your dog’s boarding or daycare stay so they go home clean and fresh after all their Camp adventures. We time it close to pick-up so your pup is dry, brushed, and ready for snuggles when you arrive. Just ask to add an exit bath when you book your Camper’s stay.

Most dogs benefit from a nail trim every 3–6 weeks, but it depends on how fast their nails grow and how much they naturally wear them down. If you can hear your pup’s nails clicking on the floor, it’s usually time for a trim. Our groomers can recommend a schedule that keeps your Camper’s paws healthy and comfortable.

Both nail grinding and clipping can be safe and effective when done properly. Clipping quickly shortens the nail, while grinding can smooth and round the edges, which some pups and pet parents prefer. Our team can talk through the options and help you choose what’s best for your dog’s comfort and nail health.

A typical dog bath service includes a gentle shampoo, a thorough rinse, towel and/or blow dry, and a brush-out suited to your pup’s coat. Some Camps may also offer add-ons like nail trims, ear cleaning, or de-shedding treatments. We’ll always let you know exactly what’s included so your pup gets the most out of their bath time.

Many pet parents love adding a bath at the end of a boarding stay or a big day of play so their pup comes home clean, soft, and cuddle-ready. After all that fun in the play yards, a fresh bath can be a nice finishing touch. Let us know at booking if you’d like to schedule a bath so we can plan your Camper’s “spa time” before pick-up.
